Mother nature is sometimes cruel. On a fishing trip in 1992 up in the Northern region of Lake of the Woods. We came upon a sight of a life time. The view of scattered fur was spread across the frozen lake where two trophy class bucks had fought to their deaths. The two had engaged in a duel that ended in their antlers locking in such a way they could not part. Now with only the heads remaining, their bodies consumed by timber wolves, we found them there frozen in the ice. It took us a 1/2 hour to release them from the ice and a 1/2 hour to unlock the antlers without damaging them. What a memory of an amazing fishing trip.
